ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

September 3, 2008

FAIRGROUNDS ROAD OPENED!

Fairgrounds Road was officially opened on Wednesday, September 3rd. Fairgrounds Road serves the neighborhoods off of Al Anderson Avenue, including The Highlands at Langley, which is under construction. The new road will minimize the Highlands construction traffic along 6th Street.

The road was built to address the need for alternative emergency access to neighborhoods off of the dead-end Al Anderson Avenue. The City of Langley worked with the Island County Fair Board and Island County to also provide improved access into the Island County Fairgrounds.

ANTHES AVENUE BETWEEN 2ND & 6TH

The contractor has given a new date of Wednesday, September 10th for paving to begin. We realize that the construction on Anthes is impacting the neighbors, local traffic and the school and transit buses. Thank you for your continued patience as we work with the contractor, Larry Brown Construction, Inc., to get this project completed as quickly as possible.

CAMANO AVENUE

The Camano Aveneue walkway project is nearing completion. The contractor, Sullivan Contracting LLC, is finishing clean-up and working on the landscaping.
